This past season, the Coastal Floor Coverings team has been busy across Monterey Bay—from Pebble Beach to Salinas—handling a wide range of flooring installs with a focus on solid prep, clean finishes, and client-first service. It All Starts with a Stable Foundation
One of the most common issues we encounter on-site is an uneven or compromised subfloor. Before any flooring goes down, we assess and correct for:
Uneven concrete slabs or wood subfloors
Moisture intrusion or soft spots
Squeaks, gaps, or floor movement
We often float minor imperfections using leveling compound, patch over seams, and install appropriate underlayments—especially for vinyl plank, hardwood, and tile. These small steps make a huge difference in how the floor feels and performs over time.
